Angel Food Delight

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1large can crushed pineapple
1 large carton (13 oz) frozen whipped topping
1 large angel food cake
Bring to a boil: 1 cup sugar, 2 egg yolks, beaten and 2 cups milk.
Remove from heat and add 1 package lemon gelatin. Set aside to cool 
and partially set. Beat 2 egg whites stiffly and add to sugar mixture.
Add pineapple (1 ½ cups) well drained. Fold in frozen whipped topping.

Instructions

In 13 X 9 inch pan, line bottom with bite sized pieces of cake. (use ½ of the cake). Pour ½ of the mixture over cake. Add rest of cake pieces and pour second half of the mixture. Top with chopped walnuts or toasted coconut. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until set. Serves16. this will keep for 4 to 5 days. Freezes well.
