Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

¼ cup butter or margarine
1 ¼ cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup chopped almonds
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla
1 ½ teaspoon lemon juice
rind of ½ lemon

Instructions

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and flavoring. Add dry ingredients and nuts. Refrigerate overnight. On a floured board, divide dough into three rolls. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Cool 15 minutes and slice thin. Place on large cookie sheet and return to a 450° oven. Watch carefully so that it does not get too brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Freezes well.
