Baked Lima Beans and Short Ribs

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb. Dried lima beans
½ cup molasses
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup boiling water
2 teaspoons ketchup
5 to 6 short ribs

Instructions

Soak lima beans overnight. Boil in water to cover until skin breaks (about 15 minutes. Strain and rinse with cold water. Mix molasses, mustard, salt, sugar and water. Pour mixture over beans in casserole. Add sufficient boiling water to cover beans. Add ketchup and short ribs. Cover and bake in 300° oven for 6 hours. Every hour or so add ketchup and boiling water mixture to cover beans. Salt to taste. Serves 6.
