Barbecued Lemon Marinated Chuck Steak

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

4 lbs. chuck steak (1 ½ inches thick)
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
½ cup lemon juice
1/3 cup salad oil
2 tablespoons sliced scallions, with tops
4 teaspoons sugar
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Score fat edges of steak; place in shallow dish. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over steak. Let stand 3 hours at room temperature or overnight in refrigerator, turning steak several times. Remove steak from marinade, reserving marinade. Pat steak dry with paper towels. Cook over medium hot coals 17 to 20 minutes on each side for rare to medium rare. Slice steak and spoon heated reserved marinade over. Serves 6 to 8.
