Brisket

Recipe Description

Good for Rosh Hashanah or anytime

Recipe Ingredients

4 lb. brisket, trimmed of fat
1 envelope kosher onion soup mix
1 cup brown sugar
1 jar Bennetts Chili Sauce
12 oz can of coke optional

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl mix brown sugar, soup mix, and chili sauce add optional coke. Place large sheet aluminum foil in baking pan. Pour some of the sauce over to coat bottom, put brisket on sauce, pour remaining sauce over brisket. Seal edges of foil. Bake about 3 hours. Remove let cool. Defat broth. Slice brisket and pour broth over slices in casserole dish. Serve or refrigerate, covered, and remove any solid fat. Reheat and serve. Submitted by Reba C of Marietta Ga who goes on and says I have made this with and without the coke. My family is split on which is their favorite but I like it better without the coke.
