Chicken Soup

Recipe Ingredients
4 to 5 pound chicken (preferably a fowl)
1 large onion, diced
3 large carrots
3 stalks celery
1 clove garlic (optional)
1 parsnip (optional)
4 sprigs parsley
1/8 teaspoon dillweed
1 tablespoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
Put enough water over chicken to cover it. When it boils, skim and add vegetables. Simmer until chicken is tender, about 2 ½ hours. Taste and add salt and pepper if necessary. If flavor isn’t strong enough add a package of broth seasoner. Strain.
