Chocolate Filled Babka

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

2 packages dry yeast
4 cups flour
¾ cup sugar
2/3 cup water
¼ cup butter
½ teaspoon salt
1/3 cup evaporated milk
4 egg yolks

Instructions

Combine yeast with 1 ½ cups flour. Set aside. Heat until warm; sugar, water, butter, salt and evaporated milk. Add to yeast flour mixture, add 4 egg yolks. Beat ½ minute on low speed, then beat 3 minutes at high speed. Stir in 2 ½ cups flour. Put into greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 2 hours. Punch down, put on floured board, cover and let rise 10 minutes. Mix together; ¾ cup chocolate chips, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, 2 tablespoons sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon and cook, stirring, over low heat until melted. Cool. Roll dough into rectangle. Spread with chocolate mixture. Roll-up. Put into 2 greased and floured small tube pans. Et rise 1 to 1 ½ hours. Spread with following topping; combine ¼ cup flour, ¼ cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, cut in 4 tablespoons butter, add ¼ cup chocolate chips and ¼ cup chopped nuts. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes
