Chocolate Squares

Recipe Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/3 cup butter
¼ cup confectioners’ sugar
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Cream together flour, shortening and confectioners’ sugar. Press evenly in bottom of ungreased 8 X 8 or 9 X 9 square pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes; remove from oven.
Beat remaining ingredients until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Pour over hot crust and bake about 25 minutes longer, or until no imprint remains when touched lightly in center. Cool and cut into 2 inch squares.
