Date & Nut Bread

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
6 tablespoons margarine
1 cup boiling water
1/3 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup raisins
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine baking soda, boiling water, nuts raisins and dates. Set aside. Cream margarine and sugar, add above mixture and blend well. Add vanilla and mix. Last, add flour and baking powder. Mix well. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to one hour, until done. Bake in loaf pan, greased and floured.
