Frozen Strudel Dough

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 pound butter or margarine
4 cups flour
scant teaspoon salt

Instructions

Knead this together by hand after first softening up with a knife. Be sure to flour your hands. Refrigerate dough overnight or for at least 4 hours. Separate into 4 or 5 parts, then roll each part out on well floured pastry cloth or board. If it sticks, add more flour to cloth or board. Use same filling as for regular strudel dough. I like raspberry jam, nuts, raisins and coconut. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or more, watch so it doesn’t burn. For easier cutting, before baking slice through to bottom crust. Do not go through bottom crust.
