Ginger Snaps

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

¾ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
¼ cup molasses
1 egg
2 ¼ cups sifted flur
¼ teaspoon baking soda
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ginger
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg; mix well. Sift in dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. Chill two hours. Form into 1 ¼ inch balls; roll in granulated sugar. Bake 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets t 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen.
