Grandma’s Fast N Easy Apple Cake

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

Cream for 10 minutes: ¼ pounds butter plus 2 tablespoons margarine or shortening. 
Add and cream 5 minutes longer: 1 1/8 cups sugar and 3 beaten eggs. Sift together 
once: 2 cups flour plus 2 tablespoon; 3 
teaspoons baking powder, and ¼ teaspoon salt. 
Add alternately to butter mixture with 7/8 cup orange juice, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 
1 teaspoon brandy or Cointreau.
Pour mixture into well greased 10 X 14 pan. Press into top of batter 5 or 6 sliced 
and peeled apples which have been covered with cinnamon and sugar. Bake 40 
minutes at 350°. Keep in oven for 8 minutes after cake has been baked. Cool on rack.
