Hungarian Goulash
Recipe Description
Recipe Ingredients
3 tablespoons shortening
3 cups thinly sliced onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
3 lbs. Beef (1 ˝ inch cubes)
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
3 tablespoons paprika
1 cup beef broth
˝ cup dry red wine
1 large jar spaghetti sauce
4 sprigs celery leaves
1 tablespoon parsley
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon brown sugar (last 20 minutes)
Instructions
Sauté onions in shortening until tender and golden. Remove from pan and brown meat on all sides. Add all ingredients except brown sugar, cover tightly and simmer very slowly for about 3 to 4 hours. Add brown sugar last 20 minutes
