Italian Oven Stew

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 ½ lbs. Beef stew meat
¼ cup flour
2 tablespoons oil
8 carrots, pared and sliced
4 potatoes, pared and diced
1 package onion soup mix
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon basil
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
4 cups water

Instructions

Coat beef with flour. Toss with oil in 3 quart casserole. Bake uncovered, at 400° for 30 minutes, stir once. Combine remaining ingredients; add to meat; mix well. Bake covered at 375° for 2 hours or until meat is tender. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
