Mushroom Roll-Ups

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 family size loaf thin sliced white bread
½ pound mushrooms
¼ cup butter
3 tablespoons flour
¼ teaspoon MSG
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup light cream
2 teaspoons minced chives
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

Clean and chop mushrooms. Sauté in butter for five minutes. Blend in flour, salt and MSG. Stir in cream and cook until thick. Add chives and lemon juice. Cool. Remove crusts from bread. Roll slices thin. Spread with mixture; roll up. Refrigerate or freeze. To serve, cut each roll in half. Brush with melted butter. Bake at 400° until lightly brown. Makes about 3½ dozen.
