Orange Marnier Cake

Recipe Ingredients
1 cup butter
3 eggs, separated
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
½ cup chopped almonds
1 cup sugar
2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
grated rind of 1 orange
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg yolks. Sift cake flour, baking soda and baking powder and add alternately with sour cream. Stir until smooth. Stir in grated orange rind and chopped almonds. Beat 3 eggs whites until stiff and fold into batter. Pour into greased 9 inch tube pan and bake at 350° for about 35 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and remove from pan.
Topping: ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup orange juice, 1/3 cup Grand Marnier. Prick cake with fork and pour mixture over hot cake. Top with slivered almonds.
