Pear Chutney

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

3 to 4 fresh Bartlett pears
2 large tomatoes
½ cup raisins
¼ cup chopped onions
½ cup white vinegar
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon tarragon
¼ cup chopped green peppers (optional)

Instructions

Halve and core pears, cut into ¾ inch cubes to make 3 cups. Cut tomatoes into cubes to make 2 cups. Put everything except green pepper into pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour, add green pepper. Cook 10 minutes. Can be served warm or cold. Can also be frozen.
