Polynesian Beef
Recipe Description
Recipe Ingredients
1 ½ lbs. Shoulder steak
1 tablespoon oil
¾ cup sliced onions
1 ½ cups celery, cut diagonally
1 (1 lb. 4 oz) can pineapple chunks
¼ cup sugar
1 ½ green peppers, slivered
1 teaspoon MSG
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ginger
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tomato, cut into eighths
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
Cut meat into very thin slices and brown in oil. Save pan juices and add water to make ½ cup; set aside. Sauté vegetables 5 minutes or until just crispy tender. Drain pineapple and reserve ½ cup liquid. Stir fruit and meat into vegetables with meat juices. Add sugar, MSG, salt, ginger and soy sauce, cook 5 minutes. Mix pineapple juice and cornstarch and add to meat mixture. Bring to a boil. Do not cook longer. Serve with rice on noodles. Serves 4.
