Pungent Chicken

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

3 fryer, cut up
Sauce mix:
1 cup dark molasses
1 cup cider vinegar
1 cup regular mustard
1 teaspoon soy sauce
¼ teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon tabasco sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
juice from 13 ½ ounce can of pineapple chunks

Instructions

Place chicken in shallow pan, skin side down. Sprinkle with monosodium glutamate. Pour sauce over chicken. Bake for 45 minutes at 350°. Baste occasionally. Turn chicken. Bake for 45 minutes more. Then add: pineapple chunks, 1 can drained mandarin oranges, 12 maraschino cherries, halved, and ½ cup chopped green pepper. Heat 5 minutes more. This gravy is excellent on rice.
