Silver Skinned Onions Amandine

Recipe Ingredients
½ cup margarine
½ cup blanched, shredded tasted almonds
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
2 garlic cloves
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ cup dry white wine
4 dozen small white onions
Instructions
Melt margarine in heavy skillet, stir in sugar, add garlic, seasonings and wine, add onions. Stir until well coated. Put into casserole, cover and bake in 350° oven, shaking every 15 minutes for 1 hour. Sprinkle with almonds before serving. Serves 6 to 8.
