Super Rich Chocolate Pie

Recipe Ingredients
Butter a 10 inch pie plate heavily
Separate 4 eggs, beat whites not too stiffly, gradually add 1 cup sugar and
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar. Beat until stiff. Spread over bottom and up sides
of the pie plate. Cover with 1 cup chopped nuts, preferably pecans. Bake
at 275° for 1 hour. Cool.
Melt 1 ½ cups chocolate bits in ½ cup milk, cool. Beat 1 pint of cream and add
to chocolate mixture, add 2 teaspoons vanilla. Pour into pie shell. Grate
a square of bitter chocolate over the top. Refrigerate.
