Sweet and Sour Brisket

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 brisket 5 to 6 lbs.
½ cup ketchup or chili sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 onions sliced
¼ cup mustard
2 tablespoons shortening

Instructions

Sauté onions in shortening, set aside. Brown brisket on both sides. Add remaining ingredients and simmer slowly on low light or put in 325°oven covered until done, about 3 hours. Best not to finish cooking completely, remove meat from gravy, cool and slice, cover with gravy and finish cooking. Freezes well.
