Sweet and Sour Franks

Recipe Description

Recipe Ingredients

1 lb. frankfurters
1 (1 lb.) can pineapple chunks
2 tablespoons wine vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
¼ cup water
1 cup thinly sliced onions
1 cup thinly sliced celery
2 tablespoons shortening
1 medium green pepper, sliced
1 medium tomato (cut in wedges)

Instructions

Cut franks to desired size. Drain pineapple save juice. Combine juice, water, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch and soy sauce. Sauté onion and celery in hot shortening until heated but still crisp. Add frankfurters, pineapple chunks and sauce mixture. Cook, stirring carefully until sauce thickens and clears. Add green pepper and tomato, heat through. Adjust seasonings to taste. Serve on rice.
