Toll House Filled Teacakes
Recipe Description
Recipe Ingredients
Batter:
6 tablespoons brown sugar
6 tablespoons white sugar
½ cup shortening
1 egg
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
Sift together flour, soda and salt; set aside. Cream together shortening
and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla; then add sifted dry ingredients.
Spoon into lined muffin tins, about half full. Bake at 375° for 10 to
12 minutes. Remove from oven and spoon over the following mixture:
Filling:
1 egg
½ cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 ounces (1 cup) chocolate bits
½ cup chopped nuts
Return to oven and bake 15 minutes longer.
